Out of 705 nominations made to the Kraft Project Play competition from across Canada, the Swilers Rugby Club was one of only four communities selected for a $25,000 prize and a shot at the grand prize of $250,000. The winner will be decided by the number of on-line votes that are submitted by supporters between 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 17th and 1:29 a.m. Wednesday, August 19th NST – a 36 hour window. The winner will be announced on Friday, August 21st.
In recognition of being selected as one of the top four competitors, Kraft and TSN are hosting a Community Celebration at the Swilers Rugby Club, 100 Crosbie Road, St. John’s on Thursday, August 13th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the general public to have fun and rally for next week’s on-line voting. Visitors will be treated to a BBQ, a host of fun activities and the chance to meet local celebrities.
